It’s been a while, ladies and gents but I am back. Yes, your dear friend, Billy, has returned and I’d like to introduce you to a band that you should definitely pay extremely close attention to. They are Hurts. They come to us via, where else but Manchester out of the ashes of once promising synthpop band, Daggers. As good as Daggers were on their way to becoming, it stands to reason that the boys in Hurts made a brilliant career move by trimming the fat and going out on their own because their debut single, “Wonderful Life” has the makings of a heart-piercing classic tune.
Close your eyes and you’re transported to 1987 with the pristine production and melodies. The video is top notch in all black and white glory. The dancer is an excellent touch, I might add. When it comes down to it, though, it’s all about the tune itself which I simply have not been able to stop playing for days. Enjoy and check them out on their MySpace.
